Patented Secure E-Signature Technology
Protect sensitive documents and signatures with secure, real-time remote signing.
Most electronic signature workflows rely on a simple model: send someone a link, let them open the document, and collect their signature. That model is convenient, but when the document contains sensitive information, the link itself can become a vulnerability.
RapidSign™ takes a different approach.
Our patented secure e-signature technology uses multiple coordinated credentials, encrypted document storage, and temporary data handling to create a more secure way to transmit, access, sign, and return sensitive documents in real time. Originally developed for insurance applications, the technology is designed for broader applications wherever organizations need to securely exchange sensitive documents and capture electronic signatures.
The Problem With Link-Based Signing
A conventional remote signing workflow often depends heavily on possession of a signing link. If that link is forwarded, intercepted, or accessed by the wrong person, the document may be exposed.
RapidSign™ separates access to the document from the signing link itself. Instead of relying on a single credential, the system coordinates multiple pieces of information to establish a secure signing session. The result is a more controlled approach to remote document access and electronic signature capture.
Security Built Into the Signing Process
RapidSign's patented architecture combines secure authentication, encryption, and temporary data storage throughout the signing process. The technology can:
Protect sensitive documents before they are stored or cached
Require multiple coordinated credentials to access protected content
Separate access information across different communication channels
Encrypt captured signatures using the same security architecture protecting the document
Support real-time remote signing
Automatically remove temporary data after the transaction is completed or the session expires
The patent specifically covers a system in which a sign ID and session ID are delivered through a signing link while a separate access code is required to unlock the protected content. The system uses these elements as part of its encryption and retrieval process.
Three Coordinated Credentials. One Secure Session.
At the center of the architecture are three pieces of information:
1. Sign ID
Identifies the signature request.
2. Session ID
Connects the request to a specific browser session.
3. Access Code
Provides a separate piece of the information required to access the encrypted content.
The signing link contains the sign ID and session ID. The access code is provided separately. The system combines these elements to create the information required to decrypt the protected document. That means possession of the signing link alone is not sufficient to access the protected content.
Encrypted Before Storage
Sensitive information shouldn't have to travel through a system in an exposed state. RapidSign's architecture encrypts document content before it is cached or stored, using encryption keys generated from the coordinated credentials associated with the signing session.
The captured signature is protected using the same contents key, extending the security architecture beyond the document itself. This creates a secure electronic signature workflow in which both the document being signed and the signature being returned are treated as sensitive data.
Temporary by Design
Security isn't only about encryption. It's also about limiting how long sensitive information exists. RapidSign uses centralized temporary storage with an expiration window. The patent describes embodiments in which sensitive data can be automatically deleted after it is transmitted back to the requesting system or when the expiration period is reached, whichever occurs first.
By minimizing the amount of time sensitive documents and signatures remain in temporary transmission systems, organizations can reduce the window in which that information is exposed to potential threats.
Real-Time Remote Signing
Security shouldn't have to mean a slower workflow. RapidSign is designed for real-time remote signing, allowing a requesting system to retrieve a completed signature as soon as it becomes available. The architecture can support multiple signers and multiple signature fields within a signing session, making it suitable for workflows where documents need to move between multiple participants without sacrificing control over sensitive data.
Built for More Than Insurance
RapidSign was originally developed for insurance applications, where sensitive personal and financial information frequently moves between consumers, agents, and organizations. But the underlying technology is not limited to insurance.
The patent specifically identifies sensitive information, including private health records, financial records, signature data, and insurance information as potential applications for the technology. Potential applications include:
Healthcare consent and patient documentation
Financial services and wealth-management onboarding
Mortgage and real-estate transactions
Legal and institutional document workflows
Human resources and employment documentation
Financial applications and agreements
Sensitive customer onboarding
Any workflow requiring secure remote document signing
White-Label Secure E-Signature Technology
Organizations don't always need another standalone software platform. Sometimes they need secure signing capabilities built directly into their existing customer experience.
RapidSign's patented architecture can provide a foundation for organizations looking to incorporate secure electronic signature, document transmission, and signature retrieval into their own workflows.
Potential applications include:
Secure e-signature platforms
Document signing workflows
Customer onboarding systems
Healthcare and financial applications
Secure document management
Embedded signing experiences
Enterprise workflow automation
White-label e-signature solutions
Technology licensing and integration
A Different Approach to E-Signature Security
RapidSign combines several security principles into a single remote signing architecture:
Multi-factor access: Multiple coordinated credentials are required to access protected content.
Encrypted document storage: Documents are encrypted before temporary storage or caching.
Secure signature transmission: Captured signatures receive the same protection as the documents being signed.
Temporary data handling: Sensitive information can be automatically removed after completion or expiration.
Real-time retrieval: Completed signatures can be returned to the requesting system as part of the live signing workflow.
Together, these capabilities create a secure electronic signature architecture designed for organizations that need both protection and speed.
Bring Secure E-Signature Technology to Your Platform
Whether you're building an e-signature product, modernizing a document workflow, or looking for a way to add secure remote signing to an existing platform, RapidSign offers a patented technology foundation for the next generation of digital document transactions.
